Soffit Nodes at 90 degree angle
« on: September 23, 2016, 03:17:46 PM »
My soffit at one point turns 90 degrees toward the street.  It is a 50 node string and the first 40 go from left to right, but the last 10 turn 90 degrees and go directly towards the viewer.  How would I represent that in xLights?  It seems like that would be important when doing whole house curtain effects and such.

Thanks!

Don

If you look at some of the videos and screen shots that Sean has posted he just puts a line at a sharp angle near where it should be.

I think I figured it out.  A polyline.  You can break the individual nodes down by segment.

If you try to draw a line that is coming directly at you the whole house effects won't look very good because it will light up the entire section at the same time.  Sometimes you gotta decide do you want it to look pretty on the screen or on the real show.

It's up to you.  I actually do mine the way you are talking about but you gotta know how to sequence your effects to it based on how it's drawn.
