Is there a way to copy Pixel Tree Strands to different channels
« on: November 08, 2016, 08:40:56 AM »
Hello,

I have one output not working on each of my F-16 V1 boards that are running my tree. I was wanting to use two usc controllers off my hub to run those two lights rather than trying to take the boards down and work on them. Broken heel, so hard to move and carry things at the moment. One of the outputs is in pixelnet universe 2 and the other in 3, my hub with open outputs is universe 4. I tried just copying and pasting last night, but I was unable to copy some of the paid tree sequences I had. Any help would be appreciated before I end up messing things up.

Thank You

I don't see why you need to change anything in xLights.  The data is already there you just need to have a different controller output grab the data.

The one hub for my house, Im using 14 of the 16 outputs on universe one. My other hub is controlling my arches and other items on universe 4, but I have 7 open outputs which is the hub I was going to use. Since I already have half of the second hub going to universe 4, I didnt think I could use the other half to control channels from universe 2 and 3. Thought a hub could only look at channels from 2 universes total.

I do have another F-16 V1 spare that I can put inside an enclosure and just use two outputs from it. I was just saving that option for last. I just wanted to see if I was able to copy and past strings of my tree first before I tried anything else.

Thanks for the reply Gil.

Yeah I really don't know the restrictions for the controllers you have.  If you can't remap to fix in the controller then you gotta change your model setup.  You can use individual start channels to create a channel gap.  You will need to re-render/save all the sequences.

OK. I seen the individual start channels last night but wasnt sure about that function. So I can just tell strand 2 and strand 30 to start and end at a different channel, re render and save, and all will be good. Only those two strings will be affected.

Thats actually better and faster than a copy and paste function.

Thanks for your help and information.

Setting individual start channels for strand 2 and 28 fixed the issue.

Thanks again
