Getting started in 2017
« on: December 18, 2016, 06:15:51 PM »
Hello everyone. I am looking getting some lights. What are people's thoughts on the GE color changing lights sold at the big box stores? I know they usually go on sale after Christmas so I was going to pick some up early and use my credit cards price protection to get the sale price after Christmas. Just moved into a house and never really done lights before. Wife wants an outline of the house and a mega tree if that helps. Thanks!

My opinion, go with 5v or 12v bullet pixels.  You will find plenty of sales/presales next year.  Then go with a Falcon controller.  I think the bullet nodes are easier to outline then the strips.  Boscoyo has some cool things to help you out, http://www.boscoyostudio.com/products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&zenid=oukub0nggbbp0f1gg636lbgsu0

Not sure when the sales are planned, but contact them to find out.

Thanks. I am going to go with some PixaBulbs or Brilliant Bulbs to outline the house. I think with 12" spacing. Also the falcon 4 channel when it comes back in stock. I am going to post a picture of my house with the measurements in the help fourm and get some help with what else I might need. Thanks!
