Was able to successfully get my first show up and running for this year.  Couldn't have done it without everyone's help and advice!  Very much appreciated!

I always thought it would be really cool to do that scene from Close Encounters.  Kudos to you for actually doing it  :)

Yes, I really liked your Interludes.  Where did you get your large Snowflakes from?

The snowflakes are custom. My brother's a welder and has a plasma router, so I sent him an image and he cut them from a sheet of metal and drilled holes for the nodes.

They look really nice during the day as a standard decoration too!

Close encounters was the first thing I ever sequenced 5 years ago. I was only starting out and only had a few dumb strips and nodes but have always toyed with the idea of bringing it back now with pixels. It's such a perfect sequence for lighting. Yours looks great.

Did you use manual effects for the Close Encounters, or did you use something like piano?

The effects were all manual, except for VU Meter/Level Pulse to get the "vibrations" in the peak of the roof.

I never thought of doing Close Encounters.  Great stuff.  I kinda wanted more, not just the interlude  ;D

Always wanted to do Close Encounters, did the 2001 intro the first year, it made it to year 2.  Maybe I will do a little movie medley that has nothing to do with Christmas this coming year as a trivia test for the viewers..

I would also like to know about your trees.

Did you buy the pre-made trees and add pixels to them?  If not, did your guy make those too?
Is that strip or nodes or ?

BTW, very nice display and great programming.  I hope I can make mine look as good as yours.

Probably not likely.  After drilling all those holes, he was clear that he's NEVER doing that again!!
