making changes to words that have been broked down

Hello all,

I am new at getting the faces all to work and I have watched a couple of videos on it but when I delete a word and want to replaced it with another word. I create a line between the timing marks but when I click the line I do not get a window asking me what word to put there and if I double click the line it starts the audio track. I am missing something and if you help out it would be great.

There are 2 modes.  The default now is how you see it working and you would need to hold down SHIFT while you double-click to edit.  If you want the way it used to work under settings change Timing DClick mode back to Edit mode instead of Play mode.
