Maybe a terminology problem here, can anyone explain the difference in reaction/aspect ratio when graphics are applied to a group vs a model.

For example, My mega tree appears on the sequencing screen & setup screen as being inside a group I have called "Pixel Mega Tree", it also appears as "Tree 2", for want of a better term on it's own. The only model inside the "Pixel Mega Tree" group is the "Tree 2" model.

My question is, ?? why do I see a big difference in aspect ratio when I put a graphic/picture on either the group or the model  when sequencing ??  The handling of a number of effects is completely different as well so I have discovered, so I guess it is part and parcel of the software design.  So which way should I apply graphics  :-) or is it just what ever looks best to me, I guess there will be a good reason for one way or the other  :-)

Please, I am not criticising the software, I am still getting my head around its use, about 200 hrs up in sequencing now :-)

A group by default creates a buffer which is a matrix overlay on the models in your group. A tree model defaults to a flattened matrix of the tree. These are not the same so effects look different.

You do have some control though. When using your group you could use a different default buffer style including one of the per model default style. You can also cba age the buffer style on each and every effect you drop

Thanks Keith, that is the conclusion I had come to.  Now that I have become aware of the issue it makes life a lot easier  :-)

Sorry Keith, I don't understand what you mean - "Old Brain" problems in my case I guess  :-(

Cheers,

Terry
