Dimming curve process
« on: November 26, 2017, 03:11:00 AM »
The controllers I am using don't have a dimming option so I was hoping to do it in xLights, or at least see if I need too.

However I find the process hit and miss, sometimes working sometimes not?  So I am figuring operator error.

I have been using the single brightness/Gamma sliding the brightness down too what ever value, I have even tried -100, click ok, then save.

But it does not appear to change anything.  Now this is not true for every attempt, it has worked in the past, took me ages to work out why something was not working, but I just tried then to turn down my tree, even too -100 and it didn't work.

Wondering if I am missing a step somewhere?

Your dimming curve goal is to make LED strings more linear in their dimming? (the most common reason)

Did you re-render after adjusting them?

If you mean the brightness slider in the Colors Panel it only affects that one effect you have selected.  You need to do a dimming curve on the model but also realize the software reverses the dimming for the preview so you can see things.
