Now that the bulk of my show is packed away I would like to thank Keith and Gill and others here for dragging this "Newbie's" learning curve just a tiny bit above the horizontal.
Conversion of my 1,000 Channel Vixen 2.1x sequences, was initially "chaotic" mainly due to my lack of understanding of the terminology involved. After some "guidance", this eventually went smoothly, and satisfactorily, which allowed me to sequence the new props into the old sequences using xLights, thanks Gill and others.
After a chaotic start to our show attempting to use xLights to drive 2 x Renard chains of 512 & 448 Channels respectively, by E1.31 Wireless, using two ESP8266's which would not work reliably, totally scrambled data. I am forever indebted to Keith who guided me through the method to change the output addressing to use Serial ports instead, which, once sorted, worked perfectly for the rest of the season. The "new" scheduler, once setup to fire off batch files for my old Ledtrix Panel, also worked like a dream - once again, thank you Keith for your hard work on that part of the software, and your advice on how to take advantage of some of it's capabilities.
Thank you Gill for pointing me in the right direction when sending DMX data from the embedded DMX information already programmed in my sequences, once I sent it out via E1.31 with an ESP8266 as the DMX handler at the "far end", that operated perfectly.
As an added comment, I have found that "small" numbers of Renard channel data are handled perfectly via E1.31 and the tiny ESP8266's, even at 115,200 baud, up to 40 Channels seem fine on my setup.
Finally, Thanks to the Xlights team, for your software, I will try and get the learning curve to rise a tiny bit higher in the coming months.
