Model with two types of node order
« on: June 25, 2018, 12:36:25 PM »
I have model that has mixture of rectangle pixels and single node pixels.  Rectangle pixels are RBG and the Single pixel nodes are RGB.  Do these have to be set up as their own individual model and then put in a group or is there a way to define specific pixels for their RGB order?

Which controller. If it is a falcon use virtual strings to make them look all the same to xLights. Alternatively what player are you using. Xschedule and I think fpp can juggle the order at playback.

Thanks Keith,
Right now I plan to have one set of these models with Falcon and another with San Devices using FPP to play everything.  Haven't used Falcon's virtual strings so something to look at and not familiar with FPP's features to model pixels within a model.
To clarify, I have multiple models (same configuration) with each having 3 rectangle pixels (RBG), single pixel node (RGB), and 3 rectangle pixels(RBG) on single strand of lights.  Not sure if that makes any difference in the response.

Not sure what sandevices can do but I have a similar situation with one of my props and I use virtual strings.

Thanks Keith - will test it out with my Falcon controllers.

FPP 2.0 (and xSchedule) can also change the RGB order of a range of channels prior to sending out the e1.31 data.  Thus, you could setup the entire model as RGB for the purpose of sequencing and then add output processors to manipulate the channels.    It may be "tricky" to setup (bunch of ranges), but it's doable.

That said, for the Falcon controllers and F#-B and PiHat's, I would use the virtual strings.  :)
