LED singing faces won't work at 50% dim
« on: November 21, 2018, 09:37:46 PM »
I have four LED singing faces that worked fine when I was running them at 50% in LOR but now that I am running in X-Lights,  the mouth segments won't shut off unless I run them at 100%(I haven't tried anything in between. I don't understand it. How can software make a difference? I do have resisters on all of the channels that the segments are connected to, I don't recall the value at this time and they are shrink wrapped to prevent any shorting in the box. But like I said they ran fine last year when I was running LOR. Does anyone have any ideas?

You've got me stumped.  Never heard of needing to run at 100% to shut things off.

Does your controller support dimming?  If you are changing the dimming in xlights on a controller that only supports on/off, I think you are going to run into problems.  I don't see how you'd need to set something to 100% on to make it turn off, but I would guess things wouldn't be working as expected.
