What effects look good on a whole roofline/eavesline setup

So far I have effects built with bars, meteors, curtain, spirals, and shimmer that I like pretty well, but I'm having trouble finding others. Any suggestions?

Single strand and of course the new whole house model is awesome and can do some funky things with the different effects.

I have a whole house model defined with all of the roof and eaves, that is what I have been trying to find more good effects for. I will try out the single strand effect on it.

twinkle, strobe, colorwash, vertical bars, butterfly, singlestran (try both chase and skips).
If you have a whole house model
bars, butterfly, plasma circles, colorwash, meteors (xplode or implode), pinwheel, ripple, curtain,
wave

create a couple of test/throwaway sequences and use the create random effects button. You might be surprised at what will show up. protect the ones that you like and then click the create random effects button again and it will replace all those grid points that are not protected with something else. I have a psuedo audacity timing marks file that is set for a change every 10 seconds with a two minute duration. I use that to build the grid, the song doesn't mean anything here since you are just looking for interesting effects that you can save or transfer to your real sequences.

Thanks, I will give that a try today. One other question, is there a tutorial that covers layering of effects? I played around with it a little but couldn't get anything interesting. I must be doing something wrong...

Ok, I tried the generate random effects trick, and I have to say that is an absolutely amazing suggestion. I know I've heard Sean talk about it in various tutorials, but for whatever reason, I never tried it until today. In doing this for about 30 minutes and looking at the various results, I have probably tripled my knowledge of generating effects (although that isn't saying a lot). Especially the sparkles slider! That immediately jazzes up the effects I have done so far. I had never touched that before today.
Unfortunately, this new revelation is going to lead me to ask many more questions, here is the first. I am only trying out effects for my roof/eaves line so far. I have a whole house model built with all of those segments in it. One of the random effects generated was a bars, which I have played with before. The direction is set to H-Expand. What I am seeing is that the starting point isn't in the center of my WHM, it is more to the left side. Is there any adjustment that will center it more? I included a screenshot.
A note about my model. Is is kind of a hybrid side/top view of my house. Since my house is visible from 3 sides (from the top, left, & bottom in the screeshot), that's why I built the model this way.
