Models list disappeared---HELP
« on: November 27, 2014, 10:57:41 PM »
Hi all,

I posted this also on the DIYC board.....sorry if you're seeing it a second time but wasn't sure the best place to ask about this....so......

I finished sequencing a while back so I haven't used XL/NC in a while but I have been updating versions all along as they come out (I'm on 3.6.7). Tonight I ran the display for the first time this year and there were some things I want to change. I went to open my .xseq file and I got an error telling me element 'xyz' does not exist in my list of models.

When I go click on models....ALL of my models are GONE.....

Is there a way to recover them? How could this happen? I haven't done anything lately other than install new versions.....

Of all times for this to happen......right as the season starts.....

All my effects presets are also gone....

HELP!!!!!

Your models are in the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file.

If you changed your setup folder by accident, you'll get a new fresh rgbeffects.xml file with NO models in it.

Just copy that file from one of the backup folders in your the xlights directory and place it in the folder that is currently configured in the setup tab.

Please tell us you have a recent backup.  (File-Backup-Yes) takes 2-5 seconds to complete and saves a bunch of heartache.
