Issues with Candy Canes with more than 1 LED per node
« on: October 07, 2019, 10:36:02 AM »
Upgraded from 2019.48 to 2019.55 and noticed that my 9 node candy canes with 3 LEDs per node do not display correctly on the layout screen, all lost their Sheppard's hook. If I change the number of LEDs per node to 1 they display correctly. Also of note the wiring view for 1 LED per node is correct but when changed to 3 LEDs per node the wiring view is corrupted. With the wiring being corrupted not sure it will render correctly, Currently haven't loaded any sequences as I'm getting the new layout set.
If all else fails, read the directions. If that doesn't work, try  following them!

Yep it seems like it got broken.  I wrote a Github issue to cover this for you.

Thanks! Much appreciated.
I went back and loaded ver 2019.49 to see if the candy canes worked in that version but got a keybindings error pressed ok and xlights would not run. I then went a reloaded ver 2019.48 the version that I was using prior to the upgrade and the Candy Canes were working. And I get the same key_bindings error but pressing ok loads the program and it appears to be working. I loaded 2019.50 and also get the keybindings error, pressing ok loads xlights. But candy cane problem is present. It appears that the candy cane problem got broke either in 2019.49 or 2019.50 and continues thru 2019.55. Also I looked at the log file in Ver 2019.55 and it list multiple errors "Cannot locate candy cane Buffer ......" Not sure if this helps.

I already told you I logged a GitHub issue.  I already did the investigation and Keith already fixed it last night.  So no that doesn't really help it wasted my time...lol.
