Windows 10 (Xlights won't load)

I've downloaded Version 2020.36 and .37 for 64bit and when I click on Xlights the software does not load up. Any suggestions.

Need more information.

Try running xlights from the command line with the /w switch.

Keith, The problem is the home page where you do the sequencing does not load on the PC. I've never had this type problem with any software. I've looked for a .exe file and there is not one. So I'm really at a loss.

My fix recommendation remains. Use the /w command line switch. If you don?t know how to do that then join the zoom room and they will likely get you going.

So you ran the install file you downloaded right?  I'm confused because first post you said "...when I click on Xlights the software does not load up".  Then last post said "I've looked for a .exe file and there is not one."  So if there is no xlights.exe file what were you clicking on in the first post?

Gilrock, I have downloaded the two different version of Xlights as stated in original message and created a shortcut from the desktop. When you click on the shortcut it just takes you to your c:drive, instead of loading the page where you would begin to build your sequences.   

You can go into "Programs" and you see the Xlights folder. You can then go into the Xlights folder and see all the individual files that makeup Xlights. No matter which file you click on from here, it still will not start the program.

So, I'm truly at a loss! I know my way around computers pretty good and can usually drill down and find a way to open a program, but not this time.

Well I'm just double-checking because I've had users that were trying to run the installer thinking it was the program.  You keep saying you "downloaded" xLights but you've never said you actually installed it.

Its still confusing because you told Keith there was no exe file and you just told me you can navigate to the xlights folder and see all the individual files that makeup xlights.  So is "xlights.exe" in that folder or not?  If so did you try Keith's suggestion he gave you twice?  Go into that xlights folder and open a Command Prompt and run xlights.exe with the /w switch.

Gilrock, I downloaded the file from the xlights website that was named xLights64_200_37.exe and went through all the prompts to install on my computer. Since the program would not start up for me, I was looking in the sub-files for a .exe file that I could try clicking on to see if it would startup the program.

I will go into C Prompt and try running it from there this evening. Thanks.
