The Model does not display correctly only as a wire frame
« on: December 23, 2020, 10:22:40 AM »
When in layout view, I add a model to the preview.  I resize the model ok, but then the wire frame disappears.  The model is there on the left side as available but no image shows up on the preview.  I am running Windows 7 32 bit operating system.  I have looked and looked for a solution.  I went to another computer, installed, and dropped a model on the preview window ... worked as expected.  Any suggestions other than use the other computer?

Try updating the graphics driver with the latest from the manufacturers website.  Then if still not working try selecting one of the earlier OpenGL versions under preferences.

Thanks for the suggestions.  The graphics driver shows up to date.  Went back one year same results.

Well you can't just trust what the OS says about the driver.  I know Windows will say its up to date but that doesn't mean there is not a manufacturer update you can get from their site.

And you said "Went back one year same results".  What did you go back one year on?  When I said select earlier OpenGL versions I mean selecting the 1.x/2.x option in xLights under File->Preferences.  That forces it to try the older standard.  If backing up to older standard works then you can run but some OpenGL features won't work or you can update the driver or get a better graphics card.

Hello, thanks for the clarification.  I tried to update the graphics driver without success.  I did not understand what you ment by GL version until the last comment.  The image you sent then helped a lot.  I then set it to the older GL version and that worked.  So thanks very much for your help.
