The Water Cooler / Entire Show Must Go
« on: October 07, 2021, 09:21:38 PM »
Been doing this since 2007! I have built up quite the collection. There is literally too much to list however I have attached my xLights files for you to get an idea of what I have. I would really like to sell the entire show as one with local pickup in the Dallas/FT. Worth area because I have to be out of my house by 10/30.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ata9-wS2D17Ei9Vu...CJDPg?e=WD9k3g

The mega tree on the right stands roughly 20' high.
The mega tree on the left stands roughly 14' high.
The arches are made out of PEX with bullet nodes inside.
All straight lines are mounted to 1/2" EMT using Boscoyo ChromaTrim V3/V4.
Sale will include roughly 15 sequences. Some were purchased, some are XLATW, some are ideas borrowed from many forum members.
For a point of reference, the house is 84 feet wide and the yard is 130 feet wide.
The Roof Matrix took some wind damage last year and several of the panels are cracked. They were made from Boscoyo Monster Matrix cut into 2' strips. The lights vary in age from 6 years old to brand new. As of takedown last year, all lights were working however expect the standard failure rate to apply. If a pixel is out, it can be replaced easily.
The lights are a combo or Ray Wu, Gilbert Engineering, Crocket FOL, and probably a few others.
Everything that fits in a tub, is stored in a tub and will be included.
Entire show is stored in a 12x16 shed and takes up the left, right, and back walls, and ceiling rafters to give you a reference.

I thought about putting an asking price however if you know the hobby then you know what has been invested into this show.

All serious and fair offers will be considered.

I will not respond to questions about shipping or selling single items.

I can send pictures of the show stored however I am trying to pack up my house of 10 years that I am having to leave because of divorce. I have 4 children that live with me and as you can imagine there is a lot for us to pack to move to our new house.

This is a beloved show in the City of Justin, and I am sad to have to let it go however I am confident that whoever buys it will carry on the magic.

If this post isn't marked sold it is still available.

I just want to add to the kudos to Gil, Keith, Dan, Captain, Sean, David, James and the countless others who have given so much to us. There are far more folks that appreciate your hard work and dedication than the few keyboard warriors who offer little, other than negativity. I have been doing this for 10 years now and unfortunately don't have the coding skills to offer however I will say that my admiration and appreciation for all of you is extremely high. You are most appreciated!!

Dang... I asked for that one... Perhaps you have shared these somewhere I could take a look? I have been fiddling with the betas you have released so far and it is looking promising!

Yep if you see all the models in the lower left corner you opened up the Show folder using the 3D version.
Not to hijack this thread however I see there is a .55 beta now Gil... Have you made any enhancements? I am super excited to get this going! :)

Falcon Pi Player / Re: FPP Upload Multiple Files?
« on: December 17, 2018, 09:59:23 AM »
The batch render is super nice when you have made changes to your layout, like moving existing props around or when you plan to make changes to multiple sequences. Turn off render on save, do all your work, then before you go to bed start your batch render and all is good to go in the AM. :) Then go to FPP connect and upload.

As far as I know and what I experience, when using FPP connect it will upload that latest fseq file for the sequence you select.  It does not render it before it sends.  You could do a batch render first then go to FPP connect to send fresh fseq files.

Do you have your submodels added to your master view?

Did you by chance download the 3d beta version and open xlights then revert to another version?

This exact thing happened to me. Look in your backup folder for an older rgbeffects file and you should be good.

Yessir. Everything is running FPP 2.latestandgreatest lol. I have 2 BBBs, 1 Pi 2B, and 1 Pi 3B+. 1 also have a F16V2 in the mix as well which I know doesn't support DDP.

I guess my question really is should I base all my models off of universes. ie 135 pixel snowflake is Universe 100 and an 85 pixel snowflake is Universe 101 etc. Should I switch to a 510 universe since it is divisible by three?

I am looking to make adding things every year  easier while also making the show more efficient.

Thanks! 🙂

I have looked for a video/tutorial that explains the most efficient way to set up your channels in your setup tab and I could have sworn I've watched one before however I can't seem to find it.

Basically I am wanting to start from scratch and redo all my channels so it is more efficient.  Should I use unicast, DPP, something else?  I have using Falcon hardware and xLights (and Nutcracker) for many years so I understand the basics.

Anybody know of a tutorial or video that explains this?

Thanks so much!

I have those same ones and for last 3 seasons I've just laid them on roof. Even with 40+ mph winds they didn't really move. YMMV

Enhancement Requests / Re: Render Time
« on: January 24, 2018, 05:09:03 PM »
Thanks Gil.

I gave that a try and nothing really stood out as taking a long time...

I guess I'll just chalk it up to a complicated sequence.

After looking at my All group I realized that I had my 2 mega trees, the mega matrix, and the p10 all in that group.

By taking them out it lowered the render time to 64.97 seconds.

Would "check sequence" catch that or if not I wonder if it would be possible for it too...

Just a thought.  :)

On this particular sequence I'm not sure how I could do that. Since I am using the All group is there a way I can break it down so I can see which model maybe hanging it up. As I watch it currently all the bars move at exactly the same pace and finish at exactly the same time.

Thanks Keith,

I have attached a Pic of the render progress...  All models render at the same rate I believe because I just took Lilia's sequence and spread it out over several models.  I guess it may have to do with all the layers.
