LOR / Re: LOR CTB16PC controllers
« on: December 01, 2017, 10:47:26 AM »
I have my LOR boxes setup as the first universe.  I also have them setup as DMX instead of LOR.  With several boxes, you can get some serious lag in sequences if you run them on the LOR protocol.  If you have Gen3 boxes, they will auto-detect and run either LOR or DMX.

Thanks very much!  I didn't know there was a way to control things from your phone.  Is there a manual or a video explaining this somewhere?

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Couple of questions on xSchedule
« on: November 23, 2017, 07:58:41 PM »
I just started up xSchedule for the first time today, and I have a couple of questions:

1) When I first launch it, I get an error about not being able start the web server.  Is it anything to be concerned with?  The scheduler seems to work fine.

2) When I run Tools->Check Schedule, I get warnings on all my sequences that they have 2 more channels than are configured to be sent out.  What is causing this?  I don't see any models that go past my last defined channel.

Thanks for any help?  Pics are attached.

That was it.  I didn't notice that the other strings close to 1 & 48 were also dimmer until I turned that off.  I must have copied that effect from somebodies shared sequence, I'm sure I've never played with those fade settings before.  Thanks for the help!

Ok, here are the files.  Thanks for taking a look at it.  I use color wash 2 times on the megatree during this sequence, it behaves the same both times.  I can take a video of the sequence tonight if that will help any.

Gil - An On effect works fine, lights all 48 strings.

Keith - The buffer settings appear to be set to 100%, attached is a screenshot.

jnealand - Every other effect in all my sequences looks perfect, so I don't think it is a controller or channel config problem.  I did have 2 ports swapped earlier in the season, it was very easy to see the problems that caused.

Gil - I will check an On effect when I get home this afternoon and let you know.

Keith - Can you explain how to check the yellow dotted line box? I've never messed with that before.  I will check it out as soon as I get home.

I noticed last night that a color wash effect on my megratree doesn't display on all the strings.  Strings 1 & 48 are dark.  Is there something I can change in the setup to fix this?

Attached are my effect settings and my megatree model.

I'm using the high-speed red one.  I also have the original low-speed one for testing.  I have never tried the voltage-booster one.

That was indeed the problem, all effects look perfect now.

@msiebri:

Are you running your show out of your computer or did you move the LOR dongle to a Pi?  I would like to see how someone configures the LOR dongle on a Pi.

I run my show off the computer (hold the rotten tomato throwing please, I will make the switch next year).  Last year after the show was done for the year, I moved everything over to a Pi just to see how it would work.  It all ran fine, including the LOR stuff.  The show looked exactly the same as running it from my computer.

Ok, i can upload files now.  Here is my setup and com port.

I'm using the LOR USB dongle to control 9 Gen3 16-channel controllers, it works fine.  I tried uploading screenshots of my setup tab and the com port in the device manager, but I'm getting an error that the upload folder is full.

Or even easier, I just swapped the string port definitions for ports 6 & 9.  That way I don't have to shutdown or change anything physically in the cold.

I think you are exactly right, that never crossed my mind.  I probably read the labels on the cables wrong when I plugged everything in.  I'll go out and switch them when it warms up and see.  Thanks!
