I have been using LOR S4 and am trying to make a switch to xLights, but have had some difficulty. I have changed most of my display to RGB Pixels using ECG-P12R controllers, and some LOR Cosmic Color Bulbs and I still use a few of my LOR CTB16D controllers for part of my display. I have two LOR networks, one for the CTB16D's and one for the CCB's. I have tried to get xLights to communicate with my LOR networks but it gives me a comport error every time it tries to control the lights for both com ports used for LOR. I have made sure no software is tieing up the ports. It appears to be xLights not seeing my LOR USB485B USB to RS485 converters. Has anyone been able to use these converters on xLights?

I don't know I quit using my converter when I moved to xLights.  But I know there are some people using the LOR dongles.  I have one I might give it a try this weekend.

I made the switch from LOR and I went through the same things. Just switch over to DMX for everything before you get too invested in trying to get the LOR dongles to work.

I'm using the LOR USB dongle to control 9 Gen3 16-channel controllers, it works fine.  I tried uploading screenshots of my setup tab and the com port in the device manager, but I'm getting an error that the upload folder is full.

@msiebri:

Are you running your show out of your computer or did you move the LOR dongle to a Pi?  I would like to see how someone configures the LOR dongle on a Pi.

I run my show off the computer (hold the rotten tomato throwing please, I will make the switch next year).  Last year after the show was done for the year, I moved everything over to a Pi just to see how it would work.  It all ran fine, including the LOR stuff.  The show looked exactly the same as running it from my computer.

msiebri, Which LOR USB Dongle are you using? The one I am using and having problems with is the Light-O-Rama USB485B with Voltage Booster.

I'm using the high-speed red one.  I also have the original low-speed one for testing.  I have never tried the voltage-booster one.
