With almost all users using the visualiser it no longer made sense to just keep chaining models. It was slow and could lead to unresolvable channel loops.

So we moved to the concept of no controller which xlights then assigns to a unique absolute channel that is not on any controller. You then use visualiser to assign it.

You can still do the other addressing modes as well you just have to change it from no controller to use start channel and you can set it up how you like it. It?s a few more clicks now but it?s not common any more so it does not make sense to optimise this over visualiser.

Generally everything is included but from time to time you we break it and you need to use your programmer skills to nut out why or wait for a fix. If it?s broken for more than a week then it is likely something on your end.

There are multiple colour modes for rgbw. Not just r=g=b->w. There is also one when the common part of r g and b becomes a white leaving the colour as the non common component. This does pastels.

That is a warning not an error. It just means it won?t log messages to the log file. It normally happens because the current directory is not the xlights folder. I would use the shortcut xlights creates when it is installed.

Background overwrites anything you might be playing.

You may want to look at using event playlists for your overrides.

It sounds like a stuck string. If you cut power to the string and reconnect it does it work for a while and then get stuck again ... this can happen when a string when all white draws so much current the string becomes unable to read the data signal and thus doesnt see any new instructions. The fix is power injection or a thicker ground wire.

I would diagree with ndonnelly ... the guys in the zoom room have helped dozens of people get their hinks remotes working correctly with the visualiser. Pop in there and ask as the process is a bit too complex for writing out long hand.
