Never said I was a master speller.
But can change it if you want?

Just found a weird anomaly!!

Xlights 2018.30 64bit - Windows 10

I had added a new model with several sub models in it and sequenced them.
Then during another sequence i renamed the sub models.

Opening up the previous sequence highlighted that the sub-models were missing (as expected) and that a requester popped up to either rename, delete , map to different or ignore.

This is as i would expect as i mucked up there.....
However there is a visual anomaly associated with that pop up window where the OK and Cancel buttons are different sizes and the "Ignore (Handle Later) - Effects will not render" text seems to be different lengths!!

Yes i know this is picky but it looked rather strange when it changed and i thought something else had happened!!!!
May just be a font size thing but it is only just slight if it is!!!??!?!?
( Update - It appears the pop up requester window size changes also!!)

See attachment for snaps of this..  Note the line is something i put in to highlight what i saw.

Also on that If you select "Map the effects to different models" it doesn't give you the chance to do all of the conflicts, but just some.  Save, Close then re-open a few times will capture all of them eventually but is a bit of an ache if you get my gist!

Thanks

It should work ok
Depending upon the make & model

I used an Entec DMX Pro with no problems

Especially with RGBs it is easy to invest a LOT of money...   My two cents..

That's cheap!!!

Only thing I pick up, and I am not an expert!!
Why have you got overlapping universes on the 2 controllers??

You have 14 universes in XLights setup and only 11 on your controllers.
5,6&7 are overlapped.

The packets received are consistent so looks like it is receiving data ok though.

In that case I second the use of the FPP

Easily done on that.

Don't usually subscribe to the 'KISS' principle....

But can't you just plug them into a standard outlet and leave them on??

Gil

Out of interest..
Does it recreate a new standard file, losing any bindings you have added??

Then I suppose you can grab a copy from the F10 backups you have been regularly doing along the way??

Cool

I have been playing with mine, and it is quite easy to set up

Had Halloween stuff running from it OK but had a few little weird things happen along the way for some reason?!!??!

Rigging up the mega tree in the back garden this week and testing my sequences out in that prior to rigging it properly out front.

At present testing the timings on the FPP and that is driving me a bit potty(er) as sometimes it misses the start of the next sequence!!

Oh the fun and games we put ourselves through..
I had it all sussed and sorted for the last 6 years then i go and change it all....
Self inflicted i know..

Gil has done a good video for this:-

I followed this to do my halloween ones.
Made it very easy for me.

I purchased 2 kits direct from SanDevices.
Dab hand at soldering as been doing it for the Last 35 years!!

Shame not closer I could have lent you my 2nd one to allow you to test.
But I'm in Somerset (UK).....

Paul

Mine took 8 days to arrive.
Customs was quick, but added £13 to it all!
Tracking was good and accurate so keep looking.

Did you go for built or kit??

Btw where abouts are you??

I believe, and someone will correct me if I am wrong, that once it has saved then it is in the right format (fseq) for the FPP.
The render after the save is for display in XLights purposes only.  so if it crashes on the render after the save you are ok.
So if you can manage one save (after your reboot) then you are pretty much sorted..

You could try switching off render after save and do it manually instead??

I have found an issue, but don't know how to fix it.   If I reboot the computer, then open and render the file, it will render the file just fine.  Everything will work.  Then when I go to save the file, It hangs up.   If I restart xLights, and reload the sequence and try to render or save, it hangs up.   Only when I reboot the computer and then open the file and render, will it do so.  Really odd.  I have 16 GB of memory and 14 is free, so that isn't the issue....

How long have you left it when it hangs??
Is it still trying to save your file, or has it got to the render stage??
Only asking as I have read elsewhere that it may be one of your effects taking a long time to 'sort itself out'???
