Show Assets / Into the Unknown - Frozen
« on: December 11, 2019, 08:56:10 AM »
I know it's late in the season, but I just finished Into the Unknown and figured I'd share for anyone interested. Still could use a little polish, but it's close enough to run with.

All I ask is say thanks if it's helpful to you!

I'm uploading some sequences to the shared xlights drive.
Here are the youtube videos of the sequences for reference. I will be uploading a few more once I record videos to go with them.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Add submodels to mapping option when importing

Do you have your submodels added to your master view?

Yes, submodels in master view.

Problem is for us developers not running Linux there's not much we can do to guess at the problem and have no way to test anything.

Yep, that's totally fair and understandable. I wish I could articulate or investigate things on my end, but I wouldn't know the first step! Appreciate all the work the developers do.

Yeah, I think it's an issue with the Linux builds, but I don't know anything development-wise to add to the discussion. I did make a post about it which didn't really get any feedback.

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Import effects (linux version only)
« on: November 01, 2018, 05:20:17 PM »
When I go to import effects from a LOR sequence, on linux 2018.37, the little arrows to the left of the models is not present. On windows, I can click these arrows to expand a model into the node level for importing older ac sequences. Not sure why it's present in windows but not present in the linux version. Let me know if I can provide any further information. Thanks!

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Dimming curves / gamma adjustment
« on: October 27, 2017, 05:52:08 PM »
The gamma value he seems to be using is 2.22 or 1/0.45.
Ahh, I saw 1/0.45 and my mind just read Greek. Thanks for helping me out.

I found this site based on some searching around, which talks about the gamma adjustment specifically for 2812 pixels. Thought I would plug in these values to make a custom curve, but I can't figure out how to do it. If all else fails, I will try the gamma 2 value.

I have searched the forum all over. I find posts with people talking about adjusting those items, but no clear answer on what the values should look like for rgb. Or, could anyone tell me the format of a dimming curve file? Like, what values should be entered into it? How should it be formatted?

Thanks!

If you are specifying ip addresses in xlights, you need to make sure all of your controllers are set to unicast and not multicast. And that the universes on the e682 matches the universes in xlights.

If you post your configuration of xlights and E682s, that will also be helpful.

And yes, most people here are using Falcon, so the other site might get more help.

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking, but, why not add a layer below your roofline, and on top layer drop a morph full sweep left and the layer below, a morph full sweep right? And then repeat for every other beat or so?

General hardware / Re: Help with SanDevices E682 and xlights setup
« on: December 05, 2016, 05:58:03 AM »
Not sure if this will help or not, but you have universes 6-16 assigned to both controllers. That doesn't seem like it will fix the problem, but it does stick out.

The actual 682 and xlights addressing of the items looks right to me though.

General hardware / Re: Which Pixel Controller is Best?
« on: December 03, 2016, 07:08:01 PM »
I've been using E681 and E682 for multiple years. However, I invested in a couple Falcon controllers and expansion boards before this season to see what they were like.

There's no question, the Falcon is a much more polished, user friendly, and feature filled board.

Lights / Re: 1903 pixels
« on: October 01, 2016, 05:19:51 PM »
Hate to bump an old thread, but...

Does this mean, if I get some 1903 pixels, I can set the controller for 2811 and they will work fine?
Just need to verify this before I make a expensive decision.

Ahh, thanks for the tips and the quick reply. I'm away from my computer right now, but I'll try it out later. Thanks!

Edit: That worked out great! Thanks again.
