Nutcracker Effects / Ghosting in Pinwheel effect
« on: November 04, 2019, 11:07:23 AM »
I have a number of sequences from previous years that have many many pinwheels in them.
With 2019.63 and .58 I have noticed that they have a ghosting effect above the pin wheels at the beginning of the effect, sometimes also on the bottom of the matrix.

I have attached the sequence package so it can be seen.
I tried "per preview" render but it made no difference.

Any thoughts or ideas on how I could correct this is in an existing sequence?

Thanks
Doug C.

Nutcracker Models / Boscoyo Model default colours
« on: August 11, 2019, 02:40:07 PM »
I have some new models downloaded from Boscoyo through the in program download (pumpkin and Frankenstein).

On the new pumpkins does anyone know how to change the default colours of the outline (now green), mouth (white) and eyes (red) to something else. They do not have submodels. Maybe I have to create them? Thanks for a any help. If they have sub models I can change the colours but some don't.

 And James they look great.

Thank you for your help

My thought is that the port 6 and 9 are reversed.
This would not affect a vertical effect.
and if you look at the out of position pixels in the video they would look correct if those strings were reversed.
Would be simple to test by swapping the two connectors on the controller.

Thank You Sean,

Yes it was the second part of step 2 that was missing,  DUH and it was in the manual, I just did not read the whole sentence..

Using version 39. trying to Import, Import Effects (from XML), The mapping window opens and there are the Model column on the left and Map To on the right. But there are no arrows to give a pull down list of Models.

This did work a while ago, did try other settings for Open GL, normally use Auto
Thanks

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Cannot Drag Effect onto prop

Gil and James,

Thank you for responses.
"You can drop effects without any timing marks.  Just unselect the little circle beside the timing track." from Gil was the solution, somehow I had selected that little circle and it was what created my problem. Unselecting this allow me to drag effect and adjust its length.

Thank You to all the developers of this product, it is powerful and takes time to learn everything.

Thank You,
Adding timing marks did indeed resolve the problem.

So maybe the developers would know why when you create a new sequence are no timing marks added?

This story is  a bit long but it may help to understand how something got corrupted.

I have Xlights on two computers, on computer B I can create a sequence and add models and drag effects onto the models and all is ok and then test the sequence and it controls the lights.

On computer A I was adding LOR controllers earlier this week to test that part of the network. At some point when testing the pixels on an E682 they started pulsating, after replacing controllers and power supplies and testing with computer B I determined it had to be something on Computer A. I uninstalled and reinstalled ver 16, 20 and 22 no change. Uninstalled Xlights, deleted all folders and cleaned the registry of any xlights reference and then reinstalled 2016.22. Now with the test  tab the pixels work as they should,  I can configure the network, add models, create a sequence, But I cannot drag an effect onto the model!

Anyone have some ideas on what I could try.

Thanks in advance
Doug C.

LOR / Re: Cosmic Color Pixel (LOR CCB100)
« on: April 24, 2016, 11:58:52 AM »
I am new to Xlights (have been using LOR since 04) and also have some CCB that I would like to drive via xlights , has the original poster been successful? (I know he has not been on in a while)

I have E682 for driving pixels and have found a video where one output is used to drive LOR controllers, could it also drive a CCB control?

Thanks
