Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Having trouble with a garage outline.

Ok, so I think I came up with a solution!

I created a single poly line of the Garage Outline but put an added point in the middle of the top outline that allowed me to specify the individual string channels. Since the "right" setting isn't working, I reversed the string in my Falcon controller and it seems to be working now!

Thank you, Gilrock, for the assistance here. You really are pretty awesome.

Didn't we already go over this?  I still have your files and you drew the single lines in a way that doesn't work.  The green dot needs to be on the left side.  Also for any PolyLine the controller location can not be set to right because there is a bug.

True, we did go over this in the bug subforum, but I started a discussion here because A) we confirmed the bug with the poly line and B) I didn't want to divert that post to asking questions about groups and C) maybe I'm just going about this element the wrong way and D) the deeper the frustration the more desperate one gets lol.

So if I set the poly location to left for both strands and just use the "reversed" setting on my controller, that should produce the same result, right?

So I cannot figure this out for the life of me.

I'm trying to make a simple garage outline using LED strips. I have 2 strips, they are split perfectly even, with 135 notes from bottom left to top middle and 135 from top middle to bottom right.

I've created this element using one of 2 ways:
1) 2 Poly lines, one for the left LED strip and one for the right LED strip.
2) 4 single straight segments, 1 for left and 1 for right, 1 for top left, 1 for top right.

When I group both of those elements together and try to use the Marquee effect, I get all types of missing pixels in different areas of the strip, and its showing in Xlights meaning it's a configuration issue. Am I not understanding how grouping works? Thank you!

Ok we'll this one's easy.  I have a known bug in PolyLine where it doesn't work correctly if you use a controller location on the "Right".  I've spent several hours in the past trying to fix it and never got it right so had to stop working on it till next year.  When I developed it I never tested it as part of a group so that's how the bug got there.

Ah! Ok, well thank you for that! Also, thanks for the program. It's pretty fantastic  ;)

So I rebuilt the LED strip using single lines as well (Left, Left Top, Right, Right Top) and while all 4 lines work well individually, if I add them to a group, a large part of the strip doesn't work. Very similar.

Here's all the goodies: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1887670/GarageXlights2.zip

EDIT: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Yep all them and maybe a test sequence that shows the issue.

Thank you for that!

I've uploaded them here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1887670/GarageXlights.zip

Pretty sure no one can help without having the files to reproduce your setup.

Eiek, gotcha, I'm sorry!

What files do you need? All the xlights_xxxxx.xml files?

Hi guys. So this is driving me mad. I have 2 LED strips around my garage. They are 135 pixels each, everything is setup great in the controller. I made them a Poly line in Xlights 2016.53 for Mac. Individually, they work as they should. But when I put them together in a group, there is a 5 pixel gap in one of the strings and I can't figure out why. It shows in the preview, so i know its a software issue.

It's weird because it in the middle of one of the strips, not where they connect or anything.
