Hi guys. So this is driving me mad. I have 2 LED strips around my garage. They are 135 pixels each, everything is setup great in the controller. I made them a Poly line in Xlights 2016.53 for Mac. Individually, they work as they should. But when I put them together in a group, there is a 5 pixel gap in one of the strings and I can't figure out why. It shows in the preview, so i know its a software issue.

It's weird because it in the middle of one of the strips, not where they connect or anything.

If only we could see what you're seeing.

Pretty sure no one can help without having the files to reproduce your setup.

Eiek, gotcha, I'm sorry!

What files do you need? All the xlights_xxxxx.xml files?

Yep all them and maybe a test sequence that shows the issue.

Thank you for that!

Ok we'll this one's easy.  I have a known bug in PolyLine where it doesn't work correctly if you use a controller location on the "Right".  I've spent several hours in the past trying to fix it and never got it right so had to stop working on it till next year.  When I developed it I never tested it as part of a group so that's how the bug got there.

Ah! Ok, well thank you for that! Also, thanks for the program. It's pretty fantastic  ;)

So I rebuilt the LED strip using single lines as well (Left, Left Top, Right, Right Top) and while all 4 lines work well individually, if I add them to a group, a large part of the strip doesn't work. Very similar.

Here's all the goodies: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1887670/GarageXlights2.zip

EDIT: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I don't even need to open the files to tell you what's wrong.  You probably put the green dot side of a Single Line model on the right.  It won't work.  You need to draw all single line as left to right with the green on the left and then change the controller location to right if you need it swapped.  Not sure about top to bottom but bottom line is if it works different in a group than it does single you need to swap the points.

Hmmmm. This maybe a similar thing I have going on. My roof line has lets say an upside down Y where as the right side top is pixel 1 then goes down to pixel 20 I then come back up to left side(12' verse 16 going through gutter) I can't seem to get it in sync right. I had both side with green dot on top it worked well on some patterns, but not on others. Also I have problem where after quick chase of lights some pixels stay lit till next command? I read this switched the green dot to left side and made connection on right, but it is now acting in reverse of other side(I want to mimic it) is was working well with green dot on right side just had pixel sticking problem. ( I have to check the sticking on pixels (heavy rain right now)) Sorry if the reading is confusing, I sometimes confuse myself...lol it sucks going in and out checking what happening each time I switch something. Did I read it right somewhere other then this post that the sticking pixels were also because of the dot had to be on leftside on single line? If so I also have some arch's that I have the green dot on right side, do I also need to switch them? Thanks

Don

Always put the green dot on left side but it does not cause stuck pixels.  The problems when putting it on the right don't always show up till you start sequencing that model as a group.

Thanks Gil.
But now wondering why I sometimes have a few pixels only on roof sticking on after a wave flows through or sometimes when a song ends I also see a few on??? I have way more amount of pixels on mega tree and none of them get stuck. Maybe length of roof setup? I have injection every 50 pixels(only 146 pixels on roof have beginning, middle(50 mark) and at end) voltage at end is at 11.98 and 12.3 in beginning I used 10awg I had a bunch of)

Pixels stuck on is not likely a problem in the software.
