Thanks Gil.  I haven't done anything with layer settings to date as I am still learning.  It ust have come from an effect that I purchased and was applied when I did the morph.  I deleted all the morphs I had done and I seemed to have gotten rid of the issue.  Thanks for digging into it.

Very strange behavior.  I will open a sequence and the effect assist is correct, open another and it is wrong.  Then I will go back to the first one that was correct and it is wrong.  I am not saving anything when I close the sequence.  I have attached the one where I started seeing the effect assist not correct.  Thanks for your help.

I didn't notice this until I was working on a new sequence and trying some new things since I am still learning.  I went back to previous sequences I had created and the effect assist is fine for those trees.....it's only weird in this new sequence.  How can I fix this one sequence without losing the work I have already done?  Create a new sequence with the same song and import the effects from the previous?  Weird that this one sequence seems to be messed up.  Thanks

setting the nodes to 128 changes the node layout to 32 per strand.  My setup is 64 nodes for each string.  Then I go up 16 nodes and down 16 nodes twice for each string.

I have defined a model for some flat mini trees.  128 nodes across 2 strings, 4 strands for each string.  So a total of 16 nodes up and down the tree for 8 strands.  The model and node layout look fine.  But when I go to sequence, the effect assist seems to believe it is 16 strands with eight nodes in each.  Makes it difficult for morphs, garlands, etc. because I have to go right for up or left for down.  Do I have something defined wrong?  Screen shots attached.  Thanks for your help.

Was the recording of the mapping tutorial made available somewhere?  I wasn't able to attend but was looking for the video.  Thanks in advance.

I misunderstood an earlier comment that said I needed enough room in the timing for the effect, so I was selecting the area I wanted the effect to be in.  When I click on only 1 cell where I want the effect to start, it works every time.  I am still in a learning mode, but so far moving from LOR was the best decision I made since starting this hobby.  Thanks for the help Gil.

I took a brand new sequence with no effects, added 20 layers to my megatree and selected the entire song and only about 5 of the effects out of the 40 something I have work.  Is there another setting I should be looking at?  Those 5 seem to consistently work which is puzzling.

So I purchased some of the preset packages from Holiday sequences and xtreme sequences.   Imported them into the presets area.  Added more layers to allow for them per instructions from holiday sequences.  But I can't seem to get them to consistently apply to the selected area.  I have highlighted the effect and then select apply preset.  Most times it doesn't work, but occasionally it does.  Am I not using it correctly?

New to Xlights and was trying this with my AC Megatree.  I was trying from the bottom right, not the top left.  Are there any other prerequisites for this?  I looked in the manual about being in node view, but I want to chase across the strands.  Maybe I don't have it set correctly in my model.  I did a megatree with 16 single color strands.  The Alt click and drag is just not working for me for some reason.  Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
