Xlights Setup / Re: xlights singing trees import
« on: July 23, 2020, 04:55:30 PM »
You need to adjust your timing track that has the lyrics.

Here is a video on adding a timing track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QPaz3jbDAk

If you would like someone to walk you though it in xlights click on help and zoom.
There are several people in and out of the room who can assist you with the process.

Here are a few questions that we would need to troubleshoot this.
What is the ip address of the computer that is running Xlights?
I assume that you are running FPP so do you have your controller setup in "Status/Control - Proxy Settings"?
In FPP is the checkbox for "enabled routing between network interfaces" checked under "Status/Control - Network"?

When I launch Xlights 2020.24 and move models around on the F48 and Kulp controllers it causes the program to lock up. It happens on the second move, I remove a prop and place it back but the second prop causes the program to lock up.

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Xlights Upload to FPP (Not Responding)
« on: June 15, 2020, 06:35:54 PM »
Hello developers,
When I try to upload to FPP xlights freezes and shows not responding.
After an unspecified period of time, usually less then 1 minute it responds again.
When it does respond it does not detect two of my FPP instances.
All FPP instances are currently running 4.x-master branch.
OS - Windows 10
Controllers Listed below.

10.0.1.130 - FPP - Raspberry Pi 3 - Master  - Does not auto detect
10.0.1.131 - FPP - Raspberry Pi B - Slave
10.0.1.132 - FPP - Beagle Bone Black - Slave - Does not auto detect
10.0.1.133 - FPP - Raspberry Pi 2 - Slave
10.0.1.134 - FPP - Raspberry Pi B - Slave
10.0.1.135 - EsPixelStick
10.0.1.136 - EsPixelStick
10.0.1.137 - EsPixelStick
10.0.1.138 - EsPixelStick

10.0.1.140 - F48

I am able to add in the two non auto detected FPP instances manually and everything uploads fine.
Attached are the packaged log files.

Thanks!

General hardware / Re: how to network f4v3 to raspberry pi
« on: May 08, 2020, 08:02:44 PM »
There are two ways to connect through your Raspberry Pi.
1. "Slightly more complex way" Make sure the Eth0 and Wifi addresses are in different subnets.
On the pixel controller make sure it has its default gateway the ip address of the PI Eth0 interface.
Enable the "Enable Routing between network interfaces"
On your computer set a static route to the new network

2. On your Pi go into the Proxy settings, put the ip address of your controller into the pi.
Click on the link provided and you should be able to access the controller.

If all else fails in Xlights click on the help and select Zoom.
Jump into the zoom room and there are many people who can walk you though the setup.

I spoke with Keith and am going to send this over to FPP team.
Thanks all.

The setup works fine for me but what i could see is that if someone sets up their controllers like the following and makes changes to their layout the Upload Output could be a headache.

Universe 1-20 Pixel Controller X
Universe 30-40 Pixel Controller Y
Universe 200 - 440 BBB with 20 P5 Panels.

In this setup with any changes to controller X or Y would change the channel numbers for the BBB Matrix. Requiring a new upload Input/Output from Xlights to make it match the rendered sequence.

Hello,
When I try to upload output to my BBB with Octa-Scrolla Plus "4.0 FPP" for my led panels it enables the "Enable BBB String Cape". When this occurs it causes the homepage for the BBB to show.
###
Abnormal Conditions - May Cause Poor Performance
Could not initialize output type BBB48String. Check logs for details.
###
The only way to fix this so far is to manually disable it in the FPP software.

Could this be a problem in Xlights or is it a problem in the 4.0 FPP software?

I am currently running Xlights 2020.18 but this has been going on since 2020.12
For the controller it is set to Vendor: FPP Model: LED Panels

Hello,
Some one correct me if i'm wrong but i believe this is by design.
The FSEQ file is the rendered output of the xml file and as such should only contain the data necessary to turn on and off the channels in the different universes. It would not contain the timing tracks and effects that you can edit.
The XML files show up correctly because they contain the following pre-rendered data; sequence timing, song data, color palettes, timing tracks, and effects. This does allow it to be edited in xlights and then rendered to an  FSEQ file.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Effects Missing in all Views
« on: May 01, 2020, 09:16:04 PM »
when you open your sequence double click on your Window 1 and two. You have assigned your effects on Strand/Node Names that are currently hidden. You can also right click on the model and select toggle strands to see the effects.

To change the text size open the following
File > Preferences > Effects Grid > Spacing
Change the spacing to something larger than the current setting to see if that helps.
