LED Icicles around corners
« on: July 31, 2018, 06:53:13 PM »
I am using LED icicles not pixels, so I use the Icicle model and tell it the string properties are single color. When my roof line changes angle or goes around a corner I have to start a new model. I use LOR AC controllers to control my LED icicles and I have four different strings so four channels of LOR. So here is the problem; lets say I am building the red icicle models around the roof line I end up with six models because of angle changes, but I assign them all to the same channel on the LOR controller. Problem with that is when I run "Check Sequence" I get warnings of model overlap for all of the icicles. Is there any way to merge the models or tell Xlights that there is a parent model for the channels to prevent these warning?

Only suggestion I have is either ignore the warnings or switch to a PolyLine model which can use angles.

You don't sound excited.  PolyLine is da bomb.  lol.
Look at this attachment.  My entire upper roof is all in a single PolyLine model.

So I finally used a polyline for the icicles and it worked great. Thank you. The one thing I didn't know about polyline is you can add drops and make it look like icicles. Now I have one model per color of icicle, Thanks again.
