HLS--XL/NC and music
« on: February 01, 2014, 07:20:52 PM »
Hi all.....

This is a first.....never been the initial poster in a forum.......  8)

UPDATE:.... I found the answer to my question below....or at least I found out how to go at it... Had to sit through some videos....until it popped up....  Just took some time to sit through them....I'm just not very patient that way.... :-[

Here's a question I've been scratching my head over.  When I import a sequence from HLS into XL/NC..... Is there any way.....or benefit.....or possibility (as you can see I don't have a clue) to use the music I'm using in the HLS sequence to tweak and sync my NC effects to that music.....then export back to HLS and have my effect sync'd with my music?

I'm so ill informed about this topic that I'm not even sure if my question makes sense.......I love the NC effects and would like to tweak them to the beat of my music in the sequence.....

Any help....or pointing me to documentation or videos of such would be appreciated..... I've poked around looking but haven't found anything.....but then I'm not even sure if the search criteria I used was the proper terminology to find what I was looking for.....  :-[

Thanks for any help.....

Thanks Richard..... The videos are indeed helpful....

I was hoping for a manual type source of help.....where things are searchable and I could get at an answer quickly....sitting through hours of videos is somewhat taxing on my basic lack of patience....  ;D

Don't misunderstand... greatly appreciate the time it takes to make them....and the willingness to help others that prompts them......

I've found the HLS user manual invaluable in that regard..... And even though it's tough to keep it up to date due to Joe's prolific updates the manual is still a great way to quickly reference a topic..... Then you at least have a place to begin understanding a function or effect even if Joe has changed the look or function....

The videos are great once you get to the issue you're looking for......it's just the hunt through hours and hours of video that is somewhat daunting.....

I understand that most of my learning come from trial and error or asking questions

Yeah....different folks have their preferred ways that works best for them....  The problem I have with trial and error is that I'm not very intuitive so I have trouble making the connections sometimes..... I find that method terribly frustrating......and I don't have much patience in that regard....Especially when I don't know what I don't know that I'm trying to do.... LOL
