No crash for me. Can you describe your sequence?

I've only have sequences made in 4.0, magatree, arches, roofline. All pixels. It crashes trying to save or render. The data with changes are there when restarted. But new sequences in the latest version won't save to a new file. The xml is there but not fseq. Load the xml and the data is there. I can add to it. But on save it crashes.

For your file location settings, are they all the same folder? Are you saving sequence data into a protected or remote folder?

yes one folder for everything. I'm not sure what you mean by protected folder. I just open a new sequence and saved it before adding any elements or timing marks or anything and it saved. After adding elements, timing marks and one picture to the megatree tried to save and it crashed.

In Windows, there are some folders that have some level of protection to them - particularly in the "My Documents" region. It is an attempt to keep one user out of another user's files. Since you are using a single folder and it lets you save in the beginning, then I'd have to say this isn't the problem.

But, try making a few entries, then save, then a few more and save, then a picture and save.

Try a different picture file? How big (in horizontal and vertical pixels) is your picture? It may be too large and is overloading something.

I had an issue yesterday where the app would crash on render and save. It ended up being a model issue. I deleted some models, but they weren't purged from a group. After I deleted the group, then the app asked if I wanted to delete or rename the models in the sequencer. I just deleted and that fixed my issues. Perhaps you have something similar.

Maybe make a backup of your xml files, then delete the elements and groups you added then try. If it renders, then focus on this area.

That was it. My whole house model was the problem. I started a new sequence and saved after every step. I don't know what the problem was with but I'll make a new from scratch. Thank you all for the help!

I'm having the same problem with the MAC version.

In fact additional issues are found.  Versions 4.028 and 4.029-Pre do fail on save and render.  Also some files developed with an earlier version (4.022) will open in the Preview Tab but nothing shows in the Sequencer Tab!

I'm back to using the  4.022 version.  little or no issues on save and render.  seems to work ok

Let me add that there are  inconsisting results....RE-boot of the MAC seems to help the 4.028 version to open sequences OK.  The worst of the type of the bugs
