Scrolling text-Need help!!!!!!!

I'm new to X-lights  (working with version 4.24) I'm working on a 12 string x 50 pixel horizontal matrix. I have everything hooked up correctly and can control the effects to the matrix.

My problem is in scrolling text, As an example I use Merry Christmas with an Arial font and the text scrolls as it should but it isn't smooth?, As the text appears across the pixels the pixels flash (almost like a strobe) instead of a smooth transition from pixel to pixel, The preview shows it fine but the actual output to the pixels seems to be the issue, I'm not sure if its a setting in X-lights I'm missing or my card or? Because if this I cant even make out the words on the matrix?

Any help would be appreciated (using a Joshua1 P12S/P12X controller)

How fast do you have the words scrolling?  I just got my horizontal matrix setup and in my living room today and I also use the J1SYS P12R.  What I'm noticing is the text seems ok if I'm not trying to scroll it too fast.  At faster scroll rates its readable in xLights preview but not on the hardware.  It's kinda messing me up also because I had a long phrase I was trying to scroll to match the chorus of a song and I need the speed setting at 26 to keep up.  It looks fast on the PC but its readable.  On the real strings its unreadable.  At the speed setting of 10 I can read the text as it scrolls.  Also realize the ribbons have a wider pixel since one channel lights 3 pixels so that can also make it look like it's jumping over more.

I fixed the problem by lowering the speed on the controller from, 3500 to 2400, that took care of the problem

Interesting.  I think I have mine at 3000 so maybe I'll give that a try.

I also had to unload LOR form the system tray for the matrix to work properly, let me know how it come out. I love mine!

Known problem with the LOR listener. If it is active (in the windows task bar) it is transmitting conflicting E1.31 data along with xLights.
