Question pertaining to version 4 slowing down the music
« on: May 14, 2015, 09:24:28 PM »
Is it possible to slow down the music so that I can make a timing mark more precisely to place an effect on the beat?

I suggest you use Audacity to place your timing marks if you need the accuracy.
Go to http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/ and see all the stuff on how to use it.

I would suggest that you just zoom in with Nutcracker to add the detailed timing marks.

Audacity will let you put a timing mark anywhere. Nutcracker is going to move that timing mark to the closest 25,50 or 100ms when you import the mark anyhow.

Just keep double-clicking the wave form at the top in Nutcracker and it will keep zooming in until you've got plenty of detail for precision.

Next build will have some control to slow down the audio playing.   The docs say it won't work on Linux, but the docs are also not known for being completely accurate.  Works on the Mac.

I do zoom in on the wave form. In the past when sequencing in Vixen 2.1, I used the ability to slow the sound down many tiimes during sequencing so that I could see the preview prop and hear the sound at a slower pace.
Most if not all of my xLight sequencing is not on the beat. But this time I am redoing Wizards in Winter and trying to put effects (mostly solid colors) of the prop on the beat. And was wondering if there was a way to slow it down.
