LOR not responding, what did I do wrong?
« on: May 19, 2015, 07:41:38 PM »
I have most of my setup figured out but i can't seem to get my LOR controllers to respond in xlights. The lor controllers work fine when I run it through LOR S3. When I am trying to use xlights I always make sure to unload LOR before. The preview models I made for my LOR elements work great. Here is a screenshot of my setup. I'm using   my LOR dongle to run 6-16ch lor controllers. I'm using an actidongle for my rgb controllers and going e1.31 for my pixel controllers. The pixel controller is running a 12 strip tree and a pixel star. Do i need to leave universe 1 open to accommodate the lor controllers? Thanks guys.

I moved all of my universes up one to leave universe 1 open for the lor stuff. I went into the xlights test tab and tested a couple of different channels on the LOR stuff. Worked good. In the while house model, all of the LOR models work perfect. When I run the nutcracker sequencer with the lights on, the e1.31 and rgb works perfect. The LOR stuff lights up, but really delayed and seems slow, even though the models are still perfect. There is some sort of delay to the lor stuff from a hardware standpoint.

You may be at the upper limit of how much data can be received at the controller end at 40 times per second with 96 channels with no visible lag.

Take your channel count down to 16 and see if there's a visible delay.
Increase to 32, and repeat. Increase to 64 and repeat.  You'll find where there limit is for your specific controller, usb ports, etc. It's different for everyone.

I tried lowering the channels. Works fine up to 32 channels, then the lag kicks in after that. I guess I need to convert to dmx. Correct?

I would and I did last year. Had horrible lag at 112 channels. Set up DMX in LOR and XL and it worked great.
