Windows 10 and xlights
« on: June 05, 2015, 09:05:41 AM »
I was just wondering about windows 10, which has gotten a lot of press the last few days.   Does anyone have any idea how well xlights & windows 10 will "get along" with each other?   Should I stay away from windows 10 for some timeframe?   Thanks.

I will upgrade as soon as possible. I'm bad about that. I'll let you know.

since xlights currently runs on windows xp, vista, 7 and 8 i am going to guess it will run on windows 10. if windows 10 breaks xlights, there would be a large pile of other programs that wont port. xlights runs on windows software released over the last 15 years.

time will tell, but i am hopeful

Yeah but it will probably break the telescope and focuser drivers I support and then I lose xlights development time fixing them. Every Microsoft os change has caused driver problems.

I've been running xLights on a Win10 beta machine for the last few months with no problems.
