How to extend a sequence?
« on: June 12, 2015, 10:00:49 AM »
I started a new animation sequence to try with some new pixel props.  Created a timing marks file for every 5 secs so I could put a new effect in place.  Noticed that I could only do 30 secs of playback even though I could put effects after the 30 sec mark.  Went to settings, sequence settings and changed it to 90 secs.  Still could only get playback on 30 secs.  Did a save and close the program.  Reopen the program and now I see 90 sec in the time line.  Added some more effects, but still can not see any effects in the preview window beyond the 30 sec mark.  Did a render all, currently only doing one model to get started.  Did a save, but still can only see 30 secs of playback.  How is changing the sequence length supposed to work?  My next step will be to delete the fseq file and resave, but I would not think I should have to do that.

Even if I go to the layout window and reopen the fseq after I have done a render all and save I only get 30 secs of effects to play.

Did all the above last night.  This morning when I come back and look at sequence settings it shows up a a media sequence with a time of 0 secs.  How is this getting changed from an animation sequence of 90 secs?  Really weird stuff going on here.

edit - running 4.1.4

This is really the same as issue #196.  I stated how we don't properly truncate but the same thing applies to extending the length.  The underlying data object is not honoring the sequence duration changes.  There was some reason why the length gets locked in that Dan told me about but I forget.  By the way you should see the blue cross hatches on the Timeline update as soon as you type the new value in the duration box.  You don't have to exit and come back to see those changes.

As far as your sequence type changing while you sleep I've looked at the code and the only possibility is sleepwalking. :)
