Sean/Dan, what exactly does the Promote Node Effect do? When and why would it be used?

a comment from dan before the release

"1) A “Promote Node Effects” option that will look at all the Node effects on a model and if they are all the same, promote them up to Model level effects.   May help the LSP folks

2) A massive memory leak someplace… just discovered this.  If I Open/Close a sequence a couple times, the memory use is going up.   With the sequences the LSP folks are using, it’s going up massively.   Just starting to look at this."

Paul.

The intent is as below. Otherwise the (especially the LSP) sequences become too large when they imported in with effects at each node (ie several GB of memory)

A new "Promote Node Effects" option on the model popup menu. This will search through the node level On and Color Wash effects and if the same effect is on all the nodes at the exact same times, it will be removed from the nodes and placed on the Model.
That would be a starting point for doing the manual conversions as it picks out the easy stuff. The next step would be for you to identify the areas that are spirals or chases or similar and put the appropriate effect on the model that would match the node level stuff and then delete the node level effects.
