Bug in 4.1.8?
« on: June 27, 2015, 01:31:54 PM »
Hi guys!

Yesterday I was using Xlights 4.1.8 when it suddenly crashed on me and created a crash report. Basically I was working on a sequence when after I saved it the program crashed. Now when I go into Xlights all of my models are gone but my layout and sequence was saved. I checked the folders for the models and nothing is there. I also used a different directory from older sequences and they also don't display models.

I have been using Xlights for over a year but I usually don't create the crash reports. I have this one saved. My question is what do I do with the report?

Thanks!

Like you did, you attach to message.
Hopefully you've been doing backups and are back up.

The crash report looks like all your data is there.  Your xlights_rgbeffects.xml file has a model with a screwed up name.  When I open up the xml the names looks like "nul" and highlighted like it's a special character.  I'd manually rename that model in the xml and try to open again.
