Selecting Single Strand Color in Model Setup
« on: July 11, 2015, 11:59:22 AM »
I setup several Single Stand models for my AC lights that I still have. Some are strands are Green, some strands are Red, some are Blue and some are White. So I created the Single Strand Model with the "Single Color Green"

I noticed in the Sequencer that when I used "On Effect" on a strand that was Green, it added the effect on the grid as Red. In LOR, it's smart enough to know its a Green strand and plots the effect as Green.

Now, when I previewed my song in House Preview, the "On Effect" on the green strand didn't show up at all. The green strand never turned on. I found out that I had to change the color to green in order to see the green strand show up as green.

Seems like there is a bug here. When selecting "Single Color Green" in Single Strand Model setup it. It should plot the on effect as green and it should show up in House Preview without me having to change it to green.

Sorry that's just how its gonna work for single color models.  If you use White for the On color then it will turn on any strand you place it one.  The effects are not really tied to the models.  You can copy that effect and paste it on another row which is a different model.  Also your single color model might be part of a group and then it will only turn on when the effect you place is pinging the color that matches your model.  It sounds like the name is what is bugging you.  It said "On" but didn't turn it on.  Really you created a "Red On" effect and expected it to display on a green model.  We don't automatically change the color definition of the effect to match the model you drop it on.  The way to do it also allows you to do things like drop an Orange On effect on a green model and get a partially lit model.  The green component of the orange color would determine the green intensity on the model.  All this is how it works today not saying it may not change.

Thanks for the explanation.

So for "Single Color" AC channels, the process to turn them on is to:  create the "On Effect" then change the color either white or same color I defined as my "Single Color" in the model?

I haven't started programming all of my AC channels just get and the above seems a little manual coming from LOR, so I want to make sure I got it right.
