Toggle Models instead of Toggle Nodes/Strands in XL 4.1.11?

I have two megatrees for which I am able to toggle strands then toggle nodes.   However, I have two models for which I am not able to toggle strands/nodes--an RGB arches models that contains six arches and a minitrees model that contains 16 minitrees.   Both of these only allow "toggle models" in the drop down, but nothing drops down when I click on it.   What am I missing here?   Thanks

Edit--I went back to xl 4.1.10--problem described above does not exist with 4.1.10 running.   
Reloaded xl 4.1.11--problem described above is back.   So, maybe something changed in 4.1.11 to cause this?

By the way, didn't realize we can now double click to go back & forth from models to strands to nodes and back.   That is VERY nice!

What you are probably missing is you don't have the sub-models as part of the view so when you expand the model group you don't see them.  You gotta add all the models you wish to see to the grid.

Can I get a copies of your xlights_rgbeffects.xml and xlights_networks.xml files?  I'd like to see how the problematic models are defined.   If "Toggle Models" is there, it looks like it's not detecting and "Strands" for those models (Model Groups don't have strands).   Maybe I missed something.

You have a bunch of Whole House Models in there that you are likely using.   Those aren't expandable as those really are just a model.   I need to block the "Toggle Models" for those.   

I would delete the whole house models and instead just create Model Groups of the same name.   The model groups are expandable, more controllable, and will auto-update if you add/remove models from the group.

I have looked at my models and as far as I can tell, I developed them using the "select model groups-edit groups" buttons in the layout tab.   I have looked around for a video describing how to setup models...  Was not able to find one.   Any help out there?   Maybe Dan Kulp's strand video on the NC123 webpage???

Just open up the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file.  The model will either be listed in the ModelGroups section or the Models section.  If its in the Models section then it was created as a whole house model.

So I should delete the WH models and keep the model groups?  I am seeing the models under "models" in the xml file, as Dan noted last night....  Boy do I feel ignorant right now...

I went through and create Model Groups for each of my wholehouse models and then deleted the wholehouse models.  You can tell which ones are WHM's because some of the button grey out when you go down the list.

Done.   Ok now all is well.  I am now seeing all my strands & nodes as expected!   WOOHOO.
