VAMP Plugin Timing Labels
« on: July 21, 2015, 04:04:03 PM »
Not really a bug, but I did notice that when you scroll through a song that all of the labels keep piling up on the left edge of the screen into one big jumbled mess.  They correct themselves when you scroll back to the beginning.

I noticed this under OS X, not sure about Windows.

I watched the video and am curious as to the purpose of having the labels brought in ?

When I have imported the beats and bars from Audacity , I got just that ie with no labels (and am happy with that). But what would you use them (labels) for in your sequence ?

Actually the labels have been stored on import all along we just weren't displaying them yet.  In XL3 you got to see the labels in a column and I used them to label things like chorus, verse, etc. or a few words indicating the beginning of the verse to know where I was in the song.  On my wishlist is also the capability that the phrases of the song will display on the timing labels and then other label tracks can be used to break them down in words and phonomes for Papagayo type functionality.  Just remember we put things out that are brand new and in their infancy we don't wait till we have it polished into a final product so when new things are added you need to just chill out and wait to see what happens with them.

Thanks Gill !
I see what you mean about the chorus etc. I have been copying the lyrics from the internet and keeping it open it in another tab/doc , so that I can see  where I am at and what is repeating...

Thought I'd ask.. as sometimes the new things you'll add are obvious (in what they are to be used for) , to more experienced folks, but not as obviously to newer people.

This is how I had envisioned displaying the timing labels and I would add a setting to turn them on/off.  I'm just waiting on concurrence from the other guys.

Look good to me Gil!  I'd appreciate that feature. Right now I'm accomplishing that with multiple timing tracks and using the lyrics as the name of the timing track.
