changing the sequence timing.
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:08:51 PM »
I created a sequence a while ago that I have been working on and when I set it up intitally I set the sequence timing at 50ms. Subsequently I would like to get things a little tighter in the sequence and was wondering if there was anyway to change it from 50ms to 25ms. In the settings tab of the sequence, the Sequence timing part is greyed out so I presume it is not able to be changed in the settings tab once the sequence has been created.
I tried creating a new sequence with the same music track and models and tried importing the effects from an xml file from the 50ms version but the program crashes each time ( I presume becaue I am asking it to do something it is not supposed to do  ???).
Is there a way of changing the default timing of a sequence after it has been created... or some other work around?
Thanks.

Well we don't normally allow that but since you asked I thought of a way to do it but ....ssshhhh....don't tell anyone else. ;)

1) Delete the .fseq file.
2) Edit the XML file for the sequence and in the header where it says "50 ms" change it to "25 ms".
3) Re-open the sequence in xLights and there ya go.

The only issue I can think of is if you have any Data Layers created they won't be the right size so you should delete them before you do this and then Import them again from scratch.

I'd be very interested in the steps you were trying that caused the crash.   It should definitely not be crashing no matter what you were trying to do.
