Windows 10
« on: July 30, 2015, 03:44:42 PM »
Just updated both my laptops to win 10. One was win 7 the other was a win 8.1. Everything seems to be running fine and finally I can use both to do my sequencing. Since win 7 and 8.1 used different file locations items like gifs would only show on my main laptop. Now I point them both at onedrive for show and music files and they both see the folders where the gifs are. :)

I was wondering if Nutcracker had been tried under 10. I would like to upgrade while it is free to so.

I guess it is time to do image backups and give it a whirl.

Hi,
Could you expand on this ? ie what the differences are ?
I have my xlights backup computer on 7 , so if I have to revert to it at some stage , would like to know what is different and why and not panic then...

On mine the path leading to the  user folders were different. So when I opened a xml doc on the win 7 laptops the path was not correct for the gif files. I did do the free upgrade to win 7 with no problems.

Thanks.

Yes , I have encountered that , even on the same computer when I 'tidied up' my folder structure.
I suddenly discovered that the sequence was not playing the pictures... and after some head scratching (clicking on F5 , Render All , Save etc) found out what the issue was.

I just uploaded windows 10 last night.  Working fine.  I checked one sequence and it is running just fine; no problems.  Not too sure about "edge" browser; different from IE so at first blush is aggravating...
