did you try changing the extension from mp4 to mp3 ?

If that cheat doesn't work, you may need to use Audacity or similar program to save as MP3.

I have them as both. I think what I probably want to do is make  a video and save as MP4 in my video files with just audio and when I convert to fpp drop it in the video part of fpp. Not sure. I may add something like just snow falling  in the video part when the sequence is not an actual video scene. I just like to confuse myself

i took an mp4 (frozen), loaded it into audacity, exported out the audio as an mp3.

i then sequenced xlights with the mp3 (we do not recognize mp4's)

after finishing, i send the fseq and the mp4 to the fpp.
When the fpp plays the mp4 i had audio and video and lights perfectly sequenced.

is the ffmpeg plugin for audacity that lets you open mp4 files in audacity

SO your fseq already has the audio sequenced to it and it will take that audio right  FPP when you convert? I have all my audio files in my directory along with profiles from vixen etc. I am watching your video on sequencing in NC/XL learning that at this time. I am a bit behind this year so I am hoping to get this all together soon.

Terry I can't tell what you're asking.  Do you know what the FPP is?  What Sean said is he is stripping the audio from the MP4 and using that to sequence.  The fseq file only has the name of the audio file but when running on an FPP you get to pick what files play together so you match up the fseq file to the MP4 file when you create the playlist.  So the result is the FPP plays the sequence, audio, and video all in sync.

Gil,
Ok I think I have it. I am still trying to get teh Rasp. PI going. Not sure if I dont get that going if I can play my video in xlights or not as a back up.  Don't know why I am struggling with this so much.
I try to convert my sequences to FSEQ and xlights/NC freezes on every sequence. (converting vixen2.1 to fseq)

Might add that this computer is a new update to windows 10. Not sure if that is the problem or not.
