I am seeing something I have not seen before (xl 4.2.1)--when I am pulling the left or right side of an effect to get it aligned with one of my (manual) timing marks, the cursor is "jumpy" and I having a really hard time getting the ends of the effects to align with my timing marks.   Does this mean that somehow I managed to set timing marks that do not align with the selected timing blocks (e.g., 25 ms)?   Thanks.

The timing marks and the effects are snapping to the underlying sequence timing. When zoomed in this is easily visible. You should be able to snap to the timing mark though. If you set 100ms timing (1/10th) of a second you won't be able to get a mark or effects to snap to .25 or .75, they will go to .2 or .3, .7 or .8

I have it set to default (50 ms?)...    I'll zoom in tonight.  Just hadn't seen this before.   Looked strange...

Ran into this again last night when adding some layered effects to megatree effects.   I zoomed in but still got the effect movement.   Interestingly, when I grabbed onto another model's effects (a group of arches), I did not see the same "jumpy" response.   The "jumpy" reponse seems to be limited to my megatree models.   I kind of worked around it by setting my arches' effects & megatrees' effects to the same timing marks--where the megatree effects were "trying" to get to...    That worked fine.   Figured I would update this one for info.

It would go a long way to explaining your issue if you could capture a video of what you're doing.

Here's a screen cast.   The first effect I grabbed in the screen cast is a megatree model that is  "jumpy" and the second effect I grabbed is an arches effect that is not jumpy

Interesting. I had the same thing happen to me the other night but as it seemed to be an intermittent thing, I had presumed it was just my computer playing up. It got a little frustrating trying the get the effect into just the right spot. I'm guessing now it might not have been my Mac throwing a little hissy fit.

It would be nice to have that exact sequence and your config files.  If you don't know what your config files are then just open and close a sequence and hit the save button.  It will conveniently produce a zip file for you with the proper files.  Just add the sequence to that zip file.
