Do not ask to know all the answers, but ask to understand the question.

I am only in my first two weeks of attempting to learn all of the great things I have heard about xLights/Nutcracker as I leap into the endless possibilities of RGB light products and there is soo much to learn.  While I know the only thing I have been successful at performing is creating my models in the Layout feature, I misunderstood that you could import an LOR sequence into xLights/Nutcracker and have it perform the same as many of my RBG Channels were not mapped but hope to figure out how to get that to work.  My question is when I learn more and see the improvements over just sequencing in LOR/SuperStar and I decide to donate, where and how is the money distributed.  Only curious as I know there are several of you "geniuses out there helping to mold this great product for us all.  My goal would be to donate a certain amount for every song I am successful in creating.  Thanks for reading and enjoy the user manual and all videos to guide my in my journey.  Better late than never...

The last two disbursements went to the code developers. You can feel safe that money donated to
DONATE on upper left button of http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/
xlights will get to the right people. I , for example, have not taken any money this year from donations.

First half of this year money was split between Dave Pitts (he wrote initial xLights 4.x) , Dan Kulp and Gil Jones.
Second half was split between Dan and Gil.

We do not see that many donations, maybe 2 a month. Average donation is around $20. There have been a few donations > $100 this year, like 4.

Thanks to all who have donated.

We won't get rich from developing open source software, but then that was not the point when it was created in 2012.

I am the person who decides the split between developers.

thanks
sean

Thank you Sean for clarifying as I truly was curious and wanted to be sure it was distributed to the folks who did deserve it.  Again, I hope to learn and incorporate all of the capabilities the software has to offer into my display to provide the visitors with a better experience when visiting our display.  I most certainly hope to be one of the contributors over time to offer homage to the great deeds by the few that help so many.  Thank you for the insightful feedback.

Hello, if there is information about what you had modelled in LOR and how you set that config in xLights that you would like to share (even one component) , that would be great , Just need a few lines and a screen print of the setup tab and the model tab.

I can then add to the manual.

Other than that , do ask any questions as the rest become common for all people.
