converting effects
« on: September 15, 2015, 08:02:12 PM »
I just finished converting my LOR sequences to xLights, it worked great! I found that I can convert each channel to an xlight effect by right clicking on the node and selecting convert to effect.  This is fantastic but with how many nodes I have it will take forever to convert each channel individually. Is there a shortcut that will allow you to convert all channels in a model to an xlight effect at once?

If you have a lot of sequences to bring in and you want to convert the data to effects the best way is to use the Import Effects method and you have to create a mapping file.  It's painful because you gotta map every channel coming in but you can save the mapping file and load it back for all your other sequences.

And once you do that , you can then in the sequencer tab, right click against each of the imported model names and select ‘Promote Node Effects’.

This will search through the node level ‘On’ and ‘Color Wash’ effects and if the same effect is on all the nodes at the exact same times, it will be removed from the nodes and placed on the Model.

Will improve performance of the imported data.
