You only need the fseq file that gets created when you save a seq.

On the PI FP , you use the file manger to browse to where you have saved the fseq file and then upload the sequence.

You also have to define the channel to universe mapping on the FP

I didn't understand the question.  Are you asking how to send sequence data out the USB port?  Or are you asking if USB is the way to get a sequence stored on to the PI?

Save sequence in clights, this creats a fseq file (falcon sequence file). Go to ip address of your fpp, upload fseq and mp3 file. Create a playlist, a schedule on the fpp. Go to falconchristmas.com to leatn how to install software on your fpp

Will FPP/PI load it on the USB dongle in the PI?

I dont u derstand this question. The fop is connected to your network via an ethernet cable or a wifi dongle. Do u mean the wifi dongle? Yes, u can transfer files to the fpp via wifi

WiFi is working, not the question.

I have a 32G USB in one of the Raspberry PIs USB ports. Will FPP save the freq. to the USB or the SD card.

I know I should ask this question on the FPP fourm

When you use the file manager on the FPP, the software will automatically transfer those files to your flash drive connected to the USB port.  It does not store your sequences on the SD card.  Only the FPP operating system is on the SD card to my knowledge.

Why does it matter where the files get saved?  You don't need to worry about those kind of details to get yourself up and running.  The BeagleBone version of FPP can save the sequences on the SD card.  Mine doesn't even have a USB drive.  I ask because it really sounds like you are going to try to copy the files to the USB flash drive manually.  You should connect to the FPP through its embedded web server and upload the file using the tools provided in the user interface.

I fully intend on using FPP to load my Seq and mp3 files.   I will have a whole year of holidays, st pats, 4th of July, veterans day, Halloween etc. I like to know where my files are at. The USB on the PI is a perfect place to store them for FPP. I would prefer to not to use the SD card to store my Seq. along with the operating system.  On my PC I have an external hard drive for my data files. + a regular back up. I've had a PC crash a few times, Lost only programs that I have disks for, but never lost my data files.

Note: my house outline lights are up all year.

Just on the 32GB USB card. I suggest a smaller size ie 8GB or 16GB (for the FP)

I am using an 8GB - there have been some postings on issues with the large size ones ie 32 or 32+ depending on brand etc..

Also , and as others have posted , whilst you may store all your stuff on the USP as a backup etc , the USB that the PI will use (or SD card /USB on the BBB) is dedicated to that player.

It needs to be formatted before use as FAT32 and then the FP will use it to create directories, load stuff, write logs to .
In addition you need to use the FP file manger to upload to that device as it will accordingly arrange stuff depending on whether the item is an mp3 , fseq , script etc into different areas.

I will use 8g flash drives. Thanks. I'm not doing a backup of the flash drive.

I have an extra SD card with FPP on it, I have an extra Raspberry PI and an extra 8g flash drive and I will have all the files backed up on xlights.
