Solid State Relays with 12V RGB controller

Has anyone tried using a solid state relay (optocoupler variety) with a DMX 12V RGB controller? It seems to me that this would make for a cheap and easy way to get 120V control. So if anyone has had any success with this approach, please reply.

I've got a Komby to set up for that to control my hoist that I plan to use with the "mega tree". Will let you know how that works out, Greg recommended a specific one he's had good luck with that is arduino controlled.

I should have given detail. I have a 27 output RGB controller from HolidayCoro (thank you Dave) which will run some RGB strips and have extra channels available. The input to the SSR is simply a led that optically excites the output transistor to turn it on. You can drive the SSR anywhere from 3V-36V DC to turn on the output. The output can handle up to 240V AC.
