Superstar sequence
« on: October 10, 2015, 06:21:35 AM »
Good day!

After watching some of the earlier development of xLights 4, I got in my head that I wanted to re-create my Megatree this year. Last year I turned my megatree pixels into a matrix, but with the introduction of P10 panels, I have a much better solution for my matrix....so welcome back megatree!!

My megatree is going to be pretty simple. 12 strands of 38 pixels with a big coro plastic star to top it off - similar to this http://www.superstarlights.com/SuperStarConstruction/CosmicColorRibbons.php but with pixels instead of flex strips and not as long (10' or so vs 16').

Anyways, I saw parts of the tutorial Sean did at the start of October and wondering if anyone can share some of their super star mega tree sequences so I can kick the tires a bit - even if it's a 30second snippet.

Thanks,
Ryan

6 hours later and I am still a long way from lighting up this tree!!

Tomorrow/Monday I'll be figuring out how to keep the lights straight and how to mount the star. Gotta deal with the wind up on the roof.

Hi Ryan,

That's a heck of a setup! You might want to investigate these for next year. I think it would solve your light issue
and speed up the setup. Just a suggestion.  :)

Take care, Ed

Yeah those look good. I got a few of the new ABS trees a some Candy Canes from James....we ran into some serious fiscal challenges with shipping to Canada though. Next time through I'm going to get a US mailbox and head to Buffalo to pick up.

Now to find a sample SUP file :)
