Test OK but nothing else
« on: October 24, 2015, 06:44:06 PM »
Hi Guys,

I'm new to Xlights this year and have run in to a little problem. I have not been able to get any output to lights when I play a sequence. I can get them to light up when I test them using the test tab. I have made sure I have the Output to lights button selected. I'm sure it's something simple that I have not done in the setup but after 3 evenings of trying to get it up and running I turning to the experts for help.

I have included some screen shots of my setup just in case it helps.

Setup - https://www.dropbox.com/s/w5vggyo1wjx0zs2/10-25-2015%2011-16-26%20AM.jpg?dl=0
Test Page - https://www.dropbox.com/s/7fqcz1kwt6vxjis/10-25-2015%2011-16-50%20AM.jpg?dl=0
Model - https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ktkxjifn1x00or/Tree%20Setup.jpg?dl=0

Any help is appreciated.

Your model say its a tree and starts from Channel 1 , but the test tab says that Channel 1 has been assigned to a 'Window' model. So perhaps the channels in the model do not align with the actual output ?

When you tested from the test tab, which channels did u turn on and what lit up ?

I did notice that Gerry but was unsure if one was related to each other. Not sure how to change the test screen to match my front setup screen.

The test screen adopts what you have defined in the models, so do you have a window defined that is also using channel 1 ('Window 2') ?
Otherwise , the test tab should have said 'TREE" for channel 1.

You can check for overlaps on the layout screen - there is a checkbox there to be enabled and if u click on each model it will turn red if there is an overlap and the others will show yellow.

Otherwise , for each model that you have defined - enter the start and end channels in a spreadsheet , none of them should overlap.

Another option : create a new sequence and add the 'window 2' model that has channel 1 in it to it only , drop a 4 second color , click output to lights and that should light up.

You need to change the TREE model to start on a different channel number (than 1) is my guess.

What I will do is delete all of my models that have been created and start from scratch. Will let you know how I go later.

Thanks again Gerry for your help so far.

Dont delete them - just check the starting channel in each model , one by one !

OK, no deleting. Will check my models. Did my 3rd screen shot I first posted show this?

After checking Window 2R model I can see no incorrect channel numbering. The model starts at channel 6289 nowhere near the channel 1 in the test page I posted. I have nothing that has the overlap checkbox ticked.
