Multiple Row/Column Copy/Paste
« on: October 29, 2015, 04:50:57 AM »
Not sure if this has been discussed or if I am just missing a step on how to do it.

I would like to see a way to copy more than one row and column and paste. In my case I have a lot of  complicated repeating patterns for my arches that I cant do with single effects in a single model group.  It would be nice to be able to copy one or two full cycles of the pattern then paste to repeat it.

If someone knows a work around or if I am missing a step to make this possible please let me know.

I have frequently copied more than one Row of effects and multiple times. The trick has always been to find the right "zoom" in or out that will let me click in a cell and then drag (without moving the contents).

Do you know how to select a block of effects?  You can do it by highlighting cells if a timing track is active or if you uncheck all timing tracks you can drag a yellow dashed box around them.  The selected effects turn purple.  At that point you can Control-C or right-click select Copy.  Then select a spot in the grid for the left edge of the first effect and Control-V or right-click Paste.  I think it's fairly standard with how all windows programs operate and should be what everyone would guess at trying.

Thanks Gil.

Your answer made me take a closer look at why I was having issues. I had multiple timing track grid lines displayed. I thought I was selecting a single cell when I went to paste the copied cells but I had the wrong timing track active.

This leads me to another question, is there a way to customize the color of the timing tracks? I like having the different grid lines visible. But it would be nice to have a way to differentiate the active lines.
